How Much Does SEO Cost in Pakistan in 2026?

The short answer

SEO in Pakistan in 2026 costs between PKR 25,000 and PKR 250,000 per month for a retainer, with most established businesses landing between PKR 45,000 and PKR 110,000. One-off audits run PKR 40,000 to PKR 120,000. Freelancers on marketplace platforms charge as little as PKR 8,000 per month, and the results almost always reflect it.

Those ranges are wider than they should be, so this article explains what separates a PKR 25,000 retainer from a PKR 110,000 one — and why the cheapest option is usually the most expensive decision you can make.

What you are actually buying

SEO is not a product. It is a collection of activities, and the price reflects how much senior time, how much content production and how much authority building is included. Two agencies quoting PKR 100,000 can deliver completely different amounts of work.

Ask any agency to break their quote into these four components. If they cannot, that alone tells you something.

ComponentWhat it coversTypical share of retainer
Technical workCrawling, indexation, speed, schema, migrations15–25%
Content productionResearch, writing, editing, publishing30–40%
Authority buildingOutreach, placement, digital PR25–35%

The three price bands in Pakistan

Based on what we see in the market, Pakistani SEO retainers fall into three functional bands. The bands matter more than the exact figure — they describe what level of business the retainer can realistically move.

  • PKR 25,000–35,000/month — local single-location visibility. Google Business Profile, citations, on-page work on a handful of pages, rank tracking. Suitable for clinics, salons, restaurants and single-location services where the target is the map pack.
  • PKR 45,000–70,000/month — growth programmes. Content production, technical fixes, link acquisition and proper reporting. This is where competitive service businesses and multi-location companies sit, and it is the band most businesses eventually need.
  • PKR 90,000–250,000/month — competitive and multi-market programmes. Digital PR, GEO work, unlimited pages, multiple locations or countries, paid search integration, dedicated account management. Relevant when you are fighting funded competitors or expanding internationally.

What a cheap retainer actually delivers

It is worth being specific about what happens at PKR 8,000–15,000 per month, because this is where most Pakistani businesses first experience SEO and most conclude that SEO does not work.

A single junior person manages 20–40 accounts. Work consists of submitting a few directory listings, writing two thin articles, and generating a report from a rank-tracking tool. There is no technical analysis, no content strategy and no authority building. Rankings may move slightly for very low-competition terms, which makes the monthly report look positive while enquiries stay flat.

You have not bought SEO. You have bought reporting on SEO.

If the monthly fee is lower than the cost of one decent article, the article is not being written.

Five warning signs in an SEO proposal

We have inherited enough failed retainers to know the patterns. These five appear repeatedly.

  • Guaranteed rankings. Nobody controls Google's algorithm. A guarantee means either the keywords are worthless or the work will be unethical.
  • No mention of your technical foundation. If a proposal starts with content and links but never discusses crawlability, indexation or speed, it is built on sand.
  • Rankings as the only metric. Ask how the work connects to enquiries or revenue. If there is no answer, you are buying activity, not outcomes.
  • No named team. Find out exactly who will do the work. In many agencies the person in the pitch is not the person on your account.
  • Twelve-month lock-in with no exit. Good agencies offer month-to-month with 30 days' notice. Lock-ins protect the agency from accountability, not you.

How to decide what to spend

Work backwards from the value of a customer. If your average customer is worth PKR 150,000 and you close three in ten enquiries, then ten extra enquiries per month is worth roughly PKR 450,000 in revenue. Against that, a PKR 55,000 retainer is obviously defensible — and a PKR 15,000 retainer that produces nothing is not.

The practical test is this: can you attribute enquiries to organic search today? If not, the first investment is measurement, not content. Every engagement we run starts with analytics and Search Console, because without them neither you nor your agency can tell what is working.

Start with a free audit. Any agency worth talking to will show you the specific problems on your site before asking for money. If they cannot tell you what is broken in a 30-minute conversation, they will not fix it in six months.

Key takeaways

  • Most Pakistani SEO retainers sit between PKR 45,000 and PKR 110,000 per month for businesses that need to grow.
  • The price reflects senior time, content production and authority building — not the size of the report.
  • Guaranteed rankings and long lock-ins are the two clearest signals to walk away.
  • Measure enquiries, not just positions. SEO that does not produce pipeline is a cost, not an investment.
